Want to know how companies, the government and households work? In this major you'll focus on financial markets and institutions. You will study developments in the financial sector and the management of financial institutions, while learning about the field of economics. You'll develop a working knowledge of the Australian banking and financial system with a broad perspective of the environment of business.
This major will equip you with the knowledge and skills required to make productive contributions to your employers early in your career. You will understand the relevant issues in the financial sector and develop the skills required to keep up with and understand new developments in the field after graduation.
Finance
Careers in finance can be broadly defined to include corporate finance, financial institutions, financial markets and various branches of the financial services industry. This major will give you a broad understanding of the structure and operations of financial markets in management. You will learn about investment evaluation, decide how to fund activities and understand the roles played by financial markets and instruments.
