Bachelor of Commerce

The Bachelor of Commerce is Curtin Business School’s principal course and an internationally recognised business degree qualification.

Curtin Business School

Curtin Business School courses are designed wherever possible to meet the standards of relevant professional bodies and international institutions.

The Faculty is recognised as an elite global business school through accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International. Awarded to less than 5% of business schools worldwide, AACSB accreditation is awarded to business schools that meet the strict standards of quality academic and professional excellence, and is known worldwide as the longest standing, most recognised professional accreditation that an institution and its business programs can earn.

Curtin Business School’s quality business education and research was again recognised in the Eduniversal Business School Rankings 2017, one of the world’s most recognised higher education business school rankings. Since 2009, the school has maintained its ranking of four Palmes of Excellence, which denotes ‘significant international influence’ and places Curtin Business School among the top 10 business schools in Australia.

Bachelor of Commerce

The Bachelor of Commerce course offers a large and comprehensive range of business specialisations and aims to give you transferable skills and knowledge in verbal and interpersonal communication, critical thinking and problem-solving, negotiation and time management.

The course comprises eight common core units; seven of these are completed in your first academic year of study. You will complete the final common core unit, business capstone, in your final year, which gives you the opportunity to take part in a competition to run the most successful virtual company. You can choose to study one area of specialisation (a single major) or two (a major combination). Either way, your degree will take the same amount of time to complete and you will graduate with a Bachelor of Commerce degree awarded by Curtin University.
