Journalism: Learn print and broadcast journalism theory and practice. Learn how to communicate effectively, produce news and current affairs material for print and electronic media and the legal and ethical rules that govern the profession. You will learn the professional aspects of journalism practice, the history and economics of the media, social and ethical issues, together with a theoretical understanding of media law and regulation.
Marketing: This stream introduces you to the key skills and knowledge needed for successful marketing. It is a dynamic area that involves helping businesses differentiate themselves from their competitors to gain a competitive edge. It is about understanding who businesses should be targeting, then working out how they can persuade their target audience to buy their product or service. The Marketing stream will provide you with an understanding of how marketing works, consumer behaviour and will give you the chance to explore specific aspects of marketing, including:
- international marketing
- internet marketing
- anticipation of demands for products, services and ideas
- analysis behind the behaviour of competitors and customers
- product design
- promotion
- pricing
- distribution strategies.
Admission criteria
Qualifications
- Successful completion of the Diploma of Arts and Creative Industries.
- A recognised diploma in related field will be assessed for entry into the second year.
- A local polytechnic diploma in related field will be assessed for entry into the third year.

If you have previously studied in this field, you are encouraged to contact Curtin Singapore to discuss eligibility for Credit for Recognised Learning (credit for unit exemptions). A local polytechnic diploma in related field will be assessed for entry into the third year.
