1. Overview and Objectives of the Position:
With direct line reporting to the Pro-Vice Chancellor (PVC) and President of Curtin Singapore, this role provides academic leadership and oversight of Curtin University’s degrees in Business and Entrepreneurship, and related courses. Key responsibilities for the Head of School include the development of industry relationships and the growth of the programs. Director of Learning and Teaching
1. Role Summary:
Reporting to the Pro-Vice Chancellor (PVC) and President, the Director of Learning and Teaching is a role within Curtin Singapore with responsibility for the implementation of the University’s learning and teaching strategy across Curtin Singapore and oversight of the development and delivery of education programs, quality assurance and continuous improvement processes across Curtin Singapore.
The Director of Learning and Teaching will work with key stakeholders across Curtin Singapore and Curtin University to contribute to the development of strategies relating to innovations in learning and teaching practices and programs across Curtin Singapore.
2. Key Responsibility Areas:
Leadership
- Work with the PVC and President as part of Curtin Singapore Leadership Team (CSLT) to contribute to the formulation, implementation and ongoing review of the strategic, academic and business plans of Curtin Singapore in support of its learning and teaching strategy.
- Provide leadership within Curtin Singapore to create and maintain a positive, productive and supportive culture in the context of Curtin values and Navitas values.
- In consultation with the PVC and President, plan, develop and implement Curtin Singapore’s learning and teaching priorities and targets in support of its strategic KPIs.

Management
- Provide oversight and high-level management of the Curtin Singapore’s education product pipeline and portfolio, including the development of business cases and accreditation proposals, change proposals, implementation planning and compliance with Curtin University and Curtin Singapore academic governance requirements.
- Provide oversight and high-level management of the planning, scheduling and delivery of Curtin Singapore’s education programs ensuring operational efficiencies and alignment with the University timelines and procedures.

Quality and Compliance
- Monitor and coordinate the University’s learning and teaching quality assurance processes within Curtin Singapore.

3. Reporting, Committees, and Support
The Director of Learning and Teaching reports to the PVC and President of Curtin Singapore for the responsibilities of this role. Teaching and research workloads for this role are set by the relevant Head of School.
The Director of Learning and Teaching will be a member of Curtin Singapore Leadership Team and will chair the appropriate learning and teaching committees. The Director of Learning and Teaching will also work closely with other academic leadership roles across Curtin Singapore. The Director of Learning and Teaching liaises with a broad range of stakeholders across the university including Faculty Deans of Learning and Teaching, and Heads of Schools at Curtin Singapore.
4. Qualifications and Selection Criteria

Director of Research
1. Role Summary:
Reporting to the PVC and President of Curtin Singapore, the Director of Research is a leadership role within Curtin Singapore with responsibility for leading, guiding and supporting the implementation of Curtin Singapore research strategy. The Director of Research will also provide oversight and support for Curtin Singapore research training programs, research funding KPIs and development, and research performance and quality.
The Director of Research will work with functional and strategic teams in Curtin Singapore, Curtin University Australia, and the Academic Schools. The Director of Research will contribute to the development of strategies relating to research and research training across Curtin Singapore with the goal of ensuring a consistent and coordinated approach that supports Curtin Singapore and the university’s core goals for research.
2. Key Responsibility Areas:

- Lead, support, encourage and enable the development of opportunities for HDR students to gain experience external to the university including through internships and related industry programs, as well as providing proactive leadership, mentorship, and advice to develop and grow opportunities for HDR funding programs.

Student and Academic Services Officer (Assessments and Progressions)
The Student and Academic Services Officer (Assessments and Progressions) is responsible for providing essential administrative support for assessment processes, students’ results and appeal management, and academic progression at Curtin Singapore. This role ensures compliance with academic and assessments policies, coordinates examinations, manages student results and appeal records, and supports academic staff and Unit Coordinators in their duties, especially in managing marking and moderation process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessments and Progressions: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of examination systems, policies, and procedures. Oversee the organisation, scheduling, and security of assessments and exams, ensuring appropriate provisions for students with special requirements. Create progressive assessment schedules and coordinate invigilators and exam logistics.
- Student Management: Advise students on course requirements and academic and assessments matters, and manage requests for paper reviews, deferred assessments, and extensions. Handle cases of appeals, academic misconduct and provide support to students at risk by referring them to appropriate academic resources.
- Marking and Moderation: Organise and monitor the marking process, ensuring timely distribution of feedback and results release to students. Manage assessment moderation in accordance with partner policies and coordinate the release of results within deadlines.
- University Procedures: Ensure student academic progress complies with regulations. Assist in preparing and attending Board of Examiners meetings and produce necessary reports.

Student Experience and Engagement Officer
The Student Experience and Engagement Officer is responsible for providing administrative and logistical support to enhance the student experience at Curtin Singapore. This role focuses on managing student activities, events, and career services to foster a vibrant campus community. The officer will work closely with student committees, clubs, and leadership programs, supporting the planning and execution of student activities, orientation, and graduation events. Additionally, the officer will help students define their career goals, enhance employability skills, and connect with industry professionals through various career development activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Career Services: Provide career placement guidance and support to students and graduates. Coordinate internship placements and develop career development workshops. Plan and organise industry engagement events, career fairs, and leadership programs to enhance students’ employability and connect them with industry leaders.
- Alumni Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with alumni, engaging them in meaningful ways. Keep alumni informed about Curtin Singapore’s developments and participate in alumni events and meetings.

- Those with Master degree qualifications will be considered if they have substantial teaching/lecturing experience at the tertiary level.
- Demonstrated evidence of scholarly activity and/or continuous engagement with their profession.
- A record of successful classroom teaching/lecturing at the tertiary level, or relevant industry experience/expertise (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in working with people from diverse cultures.
